Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charleston-North, an IHG Hotel

This is a really great motel. The wife and I came for a vacation and was impressed with how convenient it was to many stores and restaurants. Check-in and Check-Out was very swift. Pool and hot tub was amazing as was the breakfast. Many items at the breakfast and the fact is was free made it even better. The only issues I have is: 1 The whole 4 nights we were there the was no maid service in our room. We had to make our own bed and had to get clean towels from front desk. 2. The water in in shower was not as hot as it could have been. The next issue I know they have no control over but it was rather annoying and that was the fact the this motel is located VERY close to the airport and you can hear the low flying planes from your room. A couple times I got woken up. If you have no problem with planes flying over this is a great place for a nice weekend get away. If I’m ever in Charleston again I will consider this location to stay

We checked in later than I had hoped we would. Traffic was jammed on one of Charleston's large bridges, I apparently set my GPS wrong, corrected it incorrectly and went to the wrong North Charleston Holiday Inns. By the time we get there I'm wrecked and hangry. The group I was with was hungry enough to eat at almost any of the close by joints and on our way out the very nice employee at the front desk tried nicely to point out a couple places we might like. I was unreceptive and a bit of an asshat towards someone trying to kindly assist some out of town guests who definitely didn't really know our way around..... I realized pretty quick that I had been neither pleasant or appreciative and completely put my long drive and negativity on her (I wish I could remember her name, I would credit her with the courtesy, helpfulness and patience I'm attempting to declare in this message. It had been my intention to apologize to her directly when we got back to the hotel. Unfortunately, she had been relieved by a gentleman working the late shift. I explained to him what I had done and expressed my apologies. He said he would let her know if he saw her. So here is a further attempt to apologetically reach out across the net. I'm very sorry I was as inconsiderate as I was. I know other folks in the hospitality industry get treated quite bad. I don't think I was the worst but I was less a gentleman than I should have been.
